Persepolis was built during 550-330BC with Xerxes ordering its construction. Darius constructed the largest building on site. The development was destroyed by the troops of Alexander the Great in 330BC during a drunken celebration. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and extraordinary to view. Photo was taken of Annable by another tour member in April, 2015.
