How does this contest work?


Submit photos of your best blooms -- flowers, trees, shrubs, vegetable gardens. The theme is 'Show us your Carolinas' bloomers'. The photo must have been shot in Spring 2014 and in North or South Carolina. Winners will receive a $75 gift card.

Can I enter more than one photo?

Yes, as long as your entry falls in the submission period, which ends Wednesday, May 7 at 11:59 p.m. The voting period ends Friday, May 9 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be notified by the Observer.

Are there prizes?

Yes, two will win a $75 gift card: 1) an Editor's Choice winner selected by the Observer's photography staff, and 2) a Readers' Choice winner selected by reader votes in this contest. Note: Voting will require registration.

Three runners-up in the Readers' Choice vote will receive a "Frozen" DVD.

In addition, Observer editors will select a collection of the best photos to appear in an online slideshow and/or in print.

Photos must be submitted Wednesday, May 7 at 11:59 p.m. Voting will continue until Friday, May 9 at 11:59 p.m.
