In honor of the “Firebird’s” 5th anniversary in Charlotte, The Observer and Bechtler Museum of Modern Art are inviting you to enter the Firebird Coloring Contest.
Winners get fun Firebird-related prizes, see their work published in the Observer and exhibited in the Bechtler!
Who’s eligible? Age categories: 4-7, 8-11, 12-14, 15-17 and adults.
How do I enter? Print the Firebird silhouette from the .pdf here.
Then, in the spirit of creator Niki de Saint Phalle, use any medium to decorate it. Upload your Firebird here; mail it (postmarked Nov. 22) to Firebird Contest, The Observer, P.O. Box 30308, Charlotte, NC 28230; or drop off at the Observer, 600 S. Tryon St.
How do I do it? On the back, write your name, age, address with ZIP code, school, daytime phone number and parents’ names. Include a photo of yourself. If you’re uploading, include the info.
Entries scanned and uploaded will appear on charlotteobserver.com. Some cards mailed to the Observer will appear online.
Prizes: Winners get a Firebird t-shirt, Firebird notecard, Firebird puzzle, a Bechtler tote bag and two guest passes to the museum.
