Let's be honest. Your teenager's room is a disaster.
But maybe the kid would actually take better care if the room got a serious makeover: More storage nooks, bins and baskets, and a cool color scheme.
The Observer's Home & Garden team is ready to step in and help. We're having a contest to find the worst teenager bedroom in Charlotte, and the winner gets a makeover.
We’ve got a consultant from the local Interior Design Society lined up to give one reader a free design consultation.
Put up $500 to cover materials, and the consultant’s team will paint, spruce up and reorganize your teenager’s room. Organization and cost control are the goals for this project, so the makeover can include repurposed items.
We want other families to benefit from the tips our project designer shares, so we'll follow the transformation, tell your family's story and publish pictures of the finished project.
Enter the contest by uploading your photo and story. The deadline is June 24. Observer editors will select and notify the winner.
Send questions to Karen Sullivan.
How do I upload the photo?
It's simple. Click here to go to the submission page. Your entry won't automatically go online. It will be reviewed by an editor, and then will join the online slideshow.
