Send us your "supermoon" photos

A "supermoon" is up in the sky this weekend, meaning the full moon will be closer to Earth than normal. Early Sunday -- around 7:32 a.m. EST to be more specific -- the moon will be 221,824 miles away from the Earth, or about 25 to 50 miles closer than usual.

Planning to capture the "supermoon" on camera? Send a picture to the Observer and it may appear on our website.

Is there a prize?  No, but your picture may appear on www.charlotteobserver.com

When is the deadline? 12:00 p.m. June 23

How do I upload the photo?

It's simple. Click here to go to the submission page. Your entry won't automatically go online. It will be reviewed by an editor, and then will join the online slideshow.
